Humboldt Community Photo Exhibit- Europe Trip

August 9th-20th I traveled to Europe with my friend Jaimie Reetz. This Trip had several "firsts" for me such as, applying for a passport, flying on an airplane, photographing such a beautiful country, & having a once in a lifetime experience with such a close friend. When Jaimie first asked me to go on this trip, I don't think she was expecting an answer so fast, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity & what perfect timing in my life. Traveling to Paris has always been a dream of mine, & I was glad we were able to fit that into our schedule. This trip was a great way to spend time with Jaimie before she went back to Africa for 2 years, & I would do it all over again!

I had the opportunity of displaying 4 photographs for the Humboldt Community Photo Exhibit this March & asked for your help by "liking" the photograph of your choice on facebook.  The Exhibit's opening night was March 14th with over 150 photographs!  These were the 4 photographs I printed to be displayed.

Brian's Winter Senior Sneak Peak

I had the honor of meeting Brian this Winter and photographing his first portion of his Senior Session. I haven't gotten many opportunities to photograph Winter Sessions, but always love the outcome of the photographs. I enjoyed photographing Brian's Senior photographs this Winter & can't wait to do the rest in the Spring. It was a cold day but he handled it great which made for a quick & great session! I had the honor of photographing Adam & Angela's Engagement Session last weekend in Humboldt & Gold Field. I have been friends with the couple so it made it a lot more fun! It was defiantly a cold Fall day but they did great, and I enjoyed spending the day with them. We were able to enjoy lunch together and talk about a lot of their Wedding Plans before heading to Gold Field to end the session. It was defiantly an entertaining session with Adams personality if you know Adam at all. Thanks Adam & Angela for letting me photograph your Engagement Session!

Kenzie's Senior Sneak Peak

I had the honor of photographing Kenzie's Senior Session this Fall, which turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. The wind was a slight issue during the session, but I was able to find some great locations without wind. The session was very relaxed & fun, as she was up for anything I had in mind. Kenzie had several amazing photographs which made choosing just a few to share difficult. Thanks for letting me photograph your Senior Session

Pilling Fall Session 2012 Sneak Peak

I had the honor of photographing Nick, Jessica & Boston again this Fall. This would be my third time photographing this couple, and Jessica always has some great ideas she wants to try, which always turn out amazing! I always enjoy photographing this couple because they are so fun & relaxed. Nick & Jessica always do a great job with their clothing selections, as they always look great. This was my first time photographing them in Clive instead of Ames which was a nice scenery change. They had picked out some great locations around the Des Moines Area. Dave + Abby

   

I had the honor of photographing Abby & Dave's Engagement Session a couple weekends ago. I got to know the two of them & spend time with them earlier in September while on a vacation in Las Vegas, so I was excited when Abby had asked me to photograph their Engagement Session. I enjoyed this session as it was a beautiful Fall morning, & the location they picked was great! It was a little brisk, but I couldn't have asked for a better morning this time of year. I was excited that they wanted to have Whiskey in their session as he is an adorable dog & was obedient as well. Abby & Dave were a fun & easy going couple which made the session relaxed. Congratulations Abby & Dave!

Eric + Melanie

  

 

I had the honor of photographing Melanie & Eric's Engagement Session this Fall.  I have been close friends with the couple for a couple years now, & was excited to share this moment with them.  We traveled to Clear Lake for session since Eric is from there, & Melanie lives close.  During the session I had learned that their first date was by the lake, which made it all the more meaningful.  Melanie &Eric were so much fun to photograph as they were so natural in front of the camera and had fun throughout the session.  They have recently asked me to photograph their Destination Wedding in May which I am excited about! Congratulations Melanie & Eric.
