Eric + Danielle

 

 I had the honor of photographing Danielle & Eric's engagement session last Sunday in Cedar Falls, IA. We were originally going to do the photo session in Ames, IA a few weekends ago, however the weather was rainy & last Sunday turned out to be perfect weather! I forgot how much I love photographing around Main Street Cedar Falls, there are so many great opportunities.
Danielle & Eric looked great, I loved their clothing. I know this time of year can be difficult to decide what is appropriate, but they did a wonderful job with colors & layers.
I loved photographing their session, as I worked with both of them while I was attending Hawkeye Community College at Fareway in Waterloo. I enjoyed catching up and learning about what they are both doing now. They were so easy to photograph as they were up for anything & had such great chemistry that showed through the photographs, they made my job easy! I had such a hard time just picking a few to show for their sneak peak, eeeek I love so many!

Pilling Fall 2013 Sneak Peak

 I had the honor of photographing Nick & Jessica again this Fall. This has been my fourth session with them & I always look forward to the time I get to spend with them! Nick & Jessica are always outgoing, funny & willing to try new locations or ideas. Jessica always has amazing ideas & great clothing selections for the sessions, she is awesome! The first date got rained out, which turned into a blessing as the trees turned so much more over the weeks and were absolutely beautiful, I couldn't have asked for a better Fall day. Boston their adorable dog has even become more photogenic over the years, or it could be the doggy treats ;) Nick even got into this Fall Session by scouting out an awesome trail near their home for some amazing photographs as well. I had such a hard time picking just a few photographs to share for their Sneak Peak as there were so many amazing photographs, so enjoy! Thanks again for letting me photograph your family over the past couple years Nick & Jessica!

Reed's Senior Sneak Peak

 

I had the honor of getting to know Reed & photograph his Senior Session when I was in Humboldt a few weekends ago. Reed is very energetic young man who stays busy with school, sports, FFA & Bow Hunting. Reed has traveled to several places of North America and is well known for his Bow Hunting. I had the honor of re-creating a photograph with Reed, that was originally of his father on a cover of a hunting magazine. Thanks again Reed for letting me photograph your Senior Session.

Brayden's Newborn Sneak Peak

 

 

 

I had the honor of photographing my friend/co-workers newborn boy awhile back, can you say adorable!?! One thing I like to do when photographing newborns is to actually travel to the clients home so the baby can be in his/her natural surroundings. I was excited to photograph his Newborn Session & to photograph some house divided photographs as Vanessa is an Iowa fan & Doug is an Iowa State fan. I got some adorable photographs with hats on, but look at all that dark hair!
I was able to visit Vanessa, Doug & Brayden the day he was born and have seen him grow so much already. Congratulations again Vanessa & Doug on your handsome baby boy!

Brooklynn's 1 Sneak Peak

 

I had the honor of photographing little miss Brooklynn who just turned 1 this October. I have had the opportunity to photograph Nick & Jessica Pilling's family session at least once a year for a few years now & have now gotten to photograph Jessica's adorable niece Brooklynn! I was glad we were able to get some family photographs with Jeff & Michelle as well, Jessica was prepared & had some great ideas!  I was lucky once again with some awesome fall weather. Sarah's Senior Sneak Peak

 

 

 I had the honor of photographing Sarah's Senior Session a few weekends ago when I was in Humboldt. I had photographed her brother's senior session a few years ago & her sister's wedding this past August, so I was really looking forward to getting to know Sarah better. Sarah came to the session prepared with ideas & all of her sporting equipment, which made for some awesome photographs! I have been very lucky with this amazing weather, perfect temperature & a nice overcast so we weren't restricted to any outdoor locations. Thanks for letting me photograph your senior session Sarah!

Stephen + Emily

 

 I had the honor of meeting Emily & Stephen a couple weekends ago for the first time. I was so excited to get to know the two of them and photograph their engagement session! Emily had some great locations in mind & it was such a beautiful day, I couldn't have asked for better weather. One location was the Hilton Coliseum which is where these two got engaged during a basketball game! These two have such chemistry & were fun to photograph. I could tell these two were enjoying the session with the laughter and fun, especially Emily she was loving it!  I loved how the parking sign outside of the Hilton Coliseum worked out perfectly to display their wedding date with a little Photoshop. Congratulations Emily & Stephen, I am looking forward to your wedding August 2014!

Draven's 4 Sneak Peak

 

I had the honor of photographing Draven's 4 year old session when I was in Humboldt last. I always enjoy photographing my nephew as he is so energetic and enjoys being photographed, well for about half an hour. Draven even had his own ideas this session which was funny, as well as his funny face photographs he wanted to get taken. I can't believe he is 4 already, time has flown by & I may be biased but I think my nephew has grown into a good looking little man :)

Colby + Ashlee

I had the honor of photographing Ashlee & Colby's engagement session in West Des Moines. Ashlee had a lot of great ideas that were fun to photograph! They were such a great couple to photograph, as they have so much chemistry that it really shows in their photographs. It was a warm afternoon, but a beautiful day & some great locations. I got a lot of photographs that were just "in the moment" and turned out great! I had a hard time just picking a few photographs to post for their sneak peak, as there were so many great & fun ones to choose from! Congratulations again Ashlee & Colby, I can't wait to photograph your wedding day!

Brian's Senior Sneak Peak

I had the honor of photographing part of Brian's Senior Session this past Winter which was a lot of fun since it was a change for me. I had the opportunity to photograph the rest of his session a couple weekends ago which was just as fun. I was worried about the weather as it was raining first thing in the morning, but it stopped just in time for us to get some great photographs outside! Frehse Wedding Sneak Peak

I had the honor of photographing Kyla & Chris's wedding a couple weekends ago in Humboldt, IA. They had such a beautiful day which made for some great outdoor photographs. Kyla & Chris had a very fun & energetic wedding party that kept me busy & on my toes the whole day (especially the groomsmen). Debbie Zeimet did an amazing job with Kyla & all of the bridesmaids make up! This was a perfect ending to my wedding season 2013. Asbe Wedding Sneak Peak

Eric & Melanie had asked me to photograph their wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico May 31, 2013. I was so honored that they had asked me to share this experience with them & photograph their wedding day! It was my first destination wedding & I hope to get the chance to photograph more in the future. It was such a beautiful day, I couldn't have asked for better weather, although it was very warm. The sky was so blue and a white beach! Congratulations Eric & Melanie, thanks again for asking me to photograph your wedding day!

Fletcher Wedding Sneak Peak

I had the honor of photographing Abby & Dave's wedding over Memorial weekend. I enjoyed photographing their wedding day, even though it was a rainy morning, they always say rain on your wedding day is good luck & we were able to make the best out of it. They had one of the largest wedding parties I have photographed but they were all so much fun to work with & easy going. I enjoyed photographing such a special day for the two of them. Chris + Kyla

I had the honor of photographing Kyla & Chris's engagement session in Ames. We had to reschedule numerous times due to this crazy weather we have been having this spring. Although this morning was beautiful & sunny, it had to sprinkle/rain on us in the afternoon during the session, however I was still able to get some great photographs of these high school sweet hearts. The rain didn't ruin their moods or mine, we were still able to make the best out of the time we had! Late June we will be getting together to have another mini session & I can't wait :)

Humboldt Community Photo Exhibit- Europe Trip

August 9th-20th I traveled to Europe with my friend Jaimie Reetz. This Trip had several "firsts" for me such as, applying for a passport, flying on an airplane, photographing such a beautiful country, & having a once in a lifetime experience with such a close friend. When Jaimie first asked me to go on this trip, I don't think she was expecting an answer so fast, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity & what perfect timing in my life. Traveling to Paris has always been a dream of mine, & I was glad we were able to fit that into our schedule. This trip was a great way to spend time with Jaimie before she went back to Africa for 2 years, & I would do it all over again!

I had the opportunity of displaying 4 photographs for the Humboldt Community Photo Exhibit this March & asked for your help by "liking" the photograph of your choice on facebook.  The Exhibit's opening night was March 14th with over 150 photographs!  These were the 4 photographs I printed to be displayed.

Brian's Winter Senior Sneak Peak

I had the honor of meeting Brian this Winter and photographing his first portion of his Senior Session. I haven't gotten many opportunities to photograph Winter Sessions, but always love the outcome of the photographs. I enjoyed photographing Brian's Senior photographs this Winter & can't wait to do the rest in the Spring. It was a cold day but he handled it great which made for a quick & great session!
